Christmas | Gift wrapping inspiration

December is the most expensive month of the year. With Christmas and in the Netherlands also Sinterklaas, we've got to empty our wallets in order to buy the best gifts for our loved ones. When you don't have lots of money (poor poor students as many of us are), it can be quite hard to find those gifts.

But have you ever thought about what happens after you finally find those gifts? Well, you'll have to wrap them. And I've never been quite good as gift wrapping. When I was younger, I used to hand the gifts over to my sister, so she could wrap them nicely. But since a couple of years, I've really learned to appreciate the art of gift wrapping. We've got many many washi tapes at home (as you might have noticed right here), so gift wrapping became more and more fun when our collection of washi tapes and labels grew.

For today's post I decided to give you some inspiration for the gift wrapping of your Christmas presents. I'm showing you some classic, two to three toned wrappings. Have you ever knew you could create such beautiful gifts with, for example, plain white paper?







The gold nutcracker wrapping paper is from last year's IKEA collection. The brown paper and the black and white twine are from Flying Tiger and the silver glitter is from Søstrene Grene :). That's basically all I used for these gifts (low budget gift wrapping all the way! We've already spent enough on the gifts themselves, right?).

To finish the wrappings, I created my own gift tags. I love doing this! I think it really makes your gift more personal and more fun to give. You could also add a small personal note to your labels. That would be so fun!
