Time flies when you're having fun - a recap of 2015

/br>They say time flies when you're having fun and oh em gee, how that is true. I woke up this morning and suddenly realised today is the day the Secret Santa Giveaway ends. As I'm typing this, the giveaway has ended and we're starting to gather all the names of people who joined our spectacle. We'll announce the winners soon, so if you've entered - stay tu-hu-huned, because magical things will happen soon.

But back to business. This year has brought us a lot. It's brought us the sudden fame of Justin Bieber (who's going to his concert?!), a second child of Kim and Kanye (I'm still sad he isn't called Wild or South) and the realization that global warming is real. But what has it brought me? I decided to give you a small round up of the ten best things that happened to me in 2015 - small and big.




The start of SASHIONBLOG.com
In the start of 2015, I was still blogging on my old blog, when I suddenly realized I had accidentally deleted a whole category of blogposts. This started my thinking about a new blog and I'm so happy I started my new website www.SASHIONBLOG.com! It was definitely one of the best things - the whole thing went to a new level, with the At home with category as my own personal favorite. And guess what: you seem to like it as well, as this post, where I visited Marleen, turned out to be the best read post of 2015!

Photographing more
Through my blogging experiences, I've found that I really love photographing. I spend more and more time creating good pictures and I've started to read about photography and follow more and more photographers in all kinds of ways. 2015 really opened my eyes about this new passion. And it got me places: I've started a photography project for the Dutch website Studenten.net. I already wrote articles for this website, but they asked me to do some photography for their new website as well. I was so honored when they asked me! And I still am. Let's be honest: it's awesome when people notice your work and like what you do, hehe.
I also did the photography for Gekkiggeit.nl and styled their lookbook pics. I got lots of compliments about the photos, and it made me feel really good. I'm definitely planning on learning and doing more when it comes to photography in 2016!



Discovering new magazines
The best moments don't really have to be the biggest things. Small things can be just as awesome. Discovering new magazines has always been one of my very favorite things to do. When Rinske and I went to Paris, I discovered Paulette. I love everything about this magazine and I'm still looking for a way to get me a copy every month... My best friend Meindert brought me a copy of it when he went to France last summer, but that's basically the last one I've read. Here's to getting me a way to getting EVERY single copy in 2016! ;) #newyearsresolutions

I became "Look of the Month" in CosmoGIRL!
In 2015 some of my outfits were published in a magazine, as a part of CosmoGIRL!'s "Look of the Month". Of course I bought a copy and told everyone about it. I'll keep this forever, haha!

When Gekkiggeit.nl suddenly became OUR business, and not just my girlfriend's business
News news news!! You didn't know this yet, but - how crazy is this?! - I'm an entrepreneur now!!

A couple of weeks ago, my girlfriend asked me to become her business partner in Gekkiggeit.nl, an online shop that sells the best stuff for your home (I wrote a little something about it here). I was already very much involved with Gekkiggeit, for example through my photography. I also made a couple of designs and helped Rinske in Collectiv., a must visit store in The Hague where lots of great entrepreneurs sell their items. So it all went kind of naturally, and I think 2016 will bring us lots of good things when it comes to our business - so crazy (yet cool!!) to say this. Hurray!!

Making collages
I got to know a lot of new passions the past year. Besides photography I also found out that I love making collages, whether it's online or offline, with paper, glue and scissors. I sure hope you like those things as well, haha, because I'm planning on making lots of more collages for my blog in 2016! ;)



Finding the most amazing sneakers ever
I was looking for these New Balance cookie monster sneakers for so, so long, when I finally found them through Instagram. I messaged the previous owner and asked her where she got them. Well, they were secondhand, she said, and hard to get because they're limited edition. But she actually didn't wear them anymore, so if I wanted to, I could buy them. She put the shoes up on Fashion-Vintage.com, an online second hand clothing platform by Glamour (the magazine), and within a couple of theys, the sneakers arrived at my home. I immediately put them on and they were SO comfy. They're definitely the best sneakers ever.

I'm starting the last phase of my study
I'm hoping to graduate in 2016. And I'm so excited: I've got an amazing company where I'm going to write my thesis for: Fashion-Vintage.com! Small things can definitely lead to bigger things, as they noticed me through my pictures of the sneakers, where I tagged them. The people at Fashion-Vintage.com asked me if I was able to do an internship with them, which I wasn't - unfortunately. But when I asked them about the possibility to write my thesis with them, they were enthousiastic and after a couple of meetings it was all set: it was gonna happen!

So next year I'll be working my ass of to graduate. Woohoo!



Organizing the very first Secret Santa Giveaway
I think Mira, Anna and I put an amazing thing together with the Secret Santa Giveaway. I love all of our packages - they're amazing and I wish I could just win everything myself, haha. I'm sorry to say that you can't enter anymore haha, but we'll announce the three winners very soon, so stay tuned if you've entered.

It's truely awesome to be able to work together with brands and create such an amazing package with amazing stuff. I'm so thankful for all the brands who worked with us on this giveaway and I'm sure there will be many more giveaways to come! And the comments on the giveaway itself were awesome as well. Thank you so much for everyone who participated. And coming to think of it, the last, but definitely not the least awesome thing of 2015...

Well hello there, you dirty old cliché. But most clichés became clichés because they're just so damn true. So yes, you, the one reading this, you're awesome and definitely one of the best things that happened to me in 2015. I just really love reading all of your comments, they can honestly make my day. I especially loved all your comments on this article, where my girlfriend decided what I had to wear for one week. I didn't expect this post to be such a great success. I've worn these outfits more often, haha, and I still love them. So thank you, for making 2015 such a great year!!
