SASHIONNOTE | Hello September!

Well hello there, September!

A new month has started and to usher it in with a kind of editorial, called the SASHIONNOTE. From this moment on, you'll find my monthly thoughts about fashion and life when a new month starts! And as september is all about the big fashion issues when it comes to magazines, I decided to set that in on my blog as well. So here's to the new fashion seasons we all call fall and winter!

I've recently decided to wear less black and more color. The streets these days are filled with black, white and grey. It sure is pretty, but it just isn't my cup of tea. It didn't make me happy when I wore just monochrome. And when you're sad, you gotta change some things. And so I did. But looking at my closet actually made me sadder: I barely had any color in my closet. So things needed to change. I needed to sell some stuff (Dutchies: buy my stuff here!) and buy some new, colorful stuff. But that seemed easier than it was...

Why is there so many black in stores right now? Where did all the colors go? When I page through all of the september issues, I see so much color! Prada, for example, has lots of pastel colors right now, as well as Dolce & Gabbana. Colorful leopard prints are hot as well (MaxMara! Miu Miu!) and shoes are seen in many many colors and shapes: nothing's too crazy this fall / winter! OK, I admit. Black is big as well. Givency, Alexander Wang and Dior all showed lots of black - but many times with a colorful twist, like those crazy shoes or a colorful bag. But the stores these days seem to have missed out on the pastel trends and the colorful twists. And because of that, shopping makes me sad.

I hope the stores will catch on to the pastel and colorful trends. Because right now, things I can afford are not my cup of tea and things I do like are more expensive than a trip to Mars and back. Oh well, I guess it's not that bad for my bank account to keep the shopping sprees delicate this year...
