DIY | Dino candle holder

Hurray, it's FRI-DIY! I kind of like the sound of fridiy hehe, but I don't think I'm gonna make it a regular thing. School's been quite busy again and I simply don't have the time to do a weekly diy project. Too bad though, because I love diy'ing. I've got a pinterest board filled with the cutest projects and lately I've added a new project: a DIY candle holder, made from a plastic toy. At first I wanted to dye my dino gold, but we don't really own any gold stuff and it doesn't look very good in our interior, so I decided to make them in a different color. What will you need? - Nailpolish (2 bottles from each color, you'll need a LOT. I used 37, sarandipity and 11, 4 ever young) - Plastic toys - A knife - A candle
What will you do? I started by painting my dinosaurs with the nailpolish. I also tried painting them with spraypaint, but this made my toys quite sticky. When I tried nailpolish, they didn't get sticky at all so now I paint everything with nailpolish instead of spraypaint, hehe. The nailpolish won't be a problem combined with the candles: some people even recomment putting nailpolish on your candle as it will make them burn longer. Then you have to cut a hole where the candle will go. You can also choose to cut the dinosaur before painting it, because you might damage the paint when you cut the hole. But I just added a second and third layer of paint after cutting it and the damages became completely invisible.
Let the dinosaurs dry for some time, add the candle and light them! They will give you instant happiness. Are you gonna try this? And would you paint them before or after cutting the dinosaur? ;)
